Chicken?
So-first and foremost- it was a great party the other night! So much fun! And there were even Nachos with Salsa- I should wishlist folornly more often.
Too much red wine this weekend has resulted in me telling not one, not two, but three close friends about my new anonymous blog, although somehow managed to hold off providing any giveaway details. Useless Parrot. So now, to spare feelings (theirs) and feed ego (mine), I may have to launch into the world sooner than I dreaded. One of those who I told is an old friend, relatively recently out of the closet, visiting for the weekend. We were out for some hit-the-spot hot chocolate last night, and he expressed a desire to visit the city's latest happenin' gay haunt. So duly trudged up there in the cold, got lost along the way despite efforts to garner directions. Eventually, arrived in the vicinity, but when finally we reached the door, the bouncer wouldn't let us in.
"Just you" he said to me forthrightly. I suddenly realised as to why so many lovely ladies had been making eye contact with me in the surrounding streets. My poor friend, who had spent 9 months planning his trip to include this bar, had arrived on Lesbian Night.
Suffice to say that despite the amused encouragement of my friend and the bemused tone of the bouncer, I declined the unexpected partying opportunity my gender was providing me. Obviously other factors- namely a bad hair day and not wanting to leave my friend in the cold- were equally pertinent in my decision to forgo an evening inside unconquered territory. But who knows, maybe in the future I'll be persuaded otherwise? You'll read it here first.
Tenuously, all warm inside at the joyous betrothal of two very good friends. Relieved too, as this commitment tolls the bell for their On n' Off status, the "off" parts of which were never much fun for any of us in the overlap circle. Anyway, On Forever! Seeing them this happy is true tonic for the soul. So, lets raise a glass of said tonic- to Love! Wherever it finds us.
