Twist and Shout
The news from the city of my birth gets even stranger... within two weeks, evacuated, terrorised and now pounded by forces of nature: a tornado ripped through the city on Thursday. I wonder if the Lord is trying to send a message to the good people of the West Midlands? (Apparently there was one in Coventry a few weeks ago too.) What on earth can they have collectively done to invoke such meteological ire? Our accents aren't as offensive as others I could mention...
My family are all fine: thanks everyone who was asking. I'm sure for those of you who live in places where there are horrrible tornadoes every ten minutes bearing alphabeticised names, this sort of fuss is ridiculous. But truly, I wonder if prior to Thursday, anyone had ever used the words "Tornado" and "Kings Heath" in the same sentence? Incongruous is not the word: the mind can but boggle as to what the next emergent news item will be from Brum. Flying Saucers? Volcanic Eruption? Local Superheroes? Vampires? (ah no- been there done that) You'll read it here first!
And if nothing else of note comes forth from the Big Heart of England, well, this hot little region isn't exactly boring right now...

A- I am loathe to admit it, but your theory may be correct. Would certainly explain a lot about my childhood.
Nushyman- if it had been named after me I might have had to "unmask" just for the sheer ridiculousness value.
D- Thanks- I'm shamed accordingly. Distracted? Moi??

I know what you mean. I have been thinking that myself. The world has gone quite mad and things which never occurred d and it's all downer stuff and "extreme". I'm positive it can't possibly be the West Midlands... you're right..they are so West Midlandish. I am glad all your folks are okay.
